Diplomatic Watch Management in Lagos with Prof. Wang Yongjing, Chinese Director, Confucius Institute; Instructor, Zhang Bo, Lead Instructor of Confucius Institute and other faculty members.

The Confucius Institute, Lagos hosted the Management of Diplomatic Watch LLC, Publishers of Diplomatic Watch Magazine at its University of Lagos Campus on Friday, January 25, 2019. Messrs Victor Gotevbe, Publisher/Editor-in-Chief; Celestine Osemeilu, Editor; Andrew Enu, Business Development Manager; and Nathaniel Gotevbe, Correspondent were part of the delegation from Diplomatic Watch. While Professor Wang Yongjing, Chinese Director of the Institute warmly welcomed them along side Zhang Bo, the Lead Instructor of the Institute.

 

Discussions were centered on making stronger the existing friendship between Nigeria and China through partnership between both Diplomatic Watch and Confucius Institute. The team was taken around on an observatory tour.

The team also used the opportunity to conduct an exclusive interview with the Chinese Director of the Institute on an array of topical issues including about the Confucius institute and how Nigerians can benefit from the programmes offered.

Confucius Institute is a non-profit public educational organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China established to promote Chinese language and culture, support local Chinese teaching internationally, and facilitate cultural exchanges. It has a decade standing relationship with the University of Lagos and over a thousand Nigerians have benefited since the agreement between both Institutes.

Diplomatic Watch is a magazine that stimulates astute discourse from the heart of the diplomatic corps. The Magazine contributes a distinctive insight into the minds of foremost global, regional and national leaders and governments.
