The Career Day is an annual flagship programme. The 2018 edition will serve as one of many strategic steps by the Foundation in responding to the global clamor for youth involvement in politics and governance.

According to a Press statement signed by the Executive Secretary of TLBF, Uchenna Achunine, “the 2018 Career Day would provide a framework for how youths can actively get involved in the demand and provision of good governance in a manner that ensures that the environment for youths to thrive is created, government becomes more strategic in the involvement of youths in policy and decision matters of nation building and together create a system where young people and relevant stakeholders can work towards creating THE FUTURE WE WANT”.

The decision to focus on increased youth participation in politics and governance in an election season is a deliberate effort to ensure that conscious effort is made to enshrine equity, inclusiveness, participatory democracy and good governance in our polity. Above all, it is intended to inspire Nigerian youths to take pro-active action in creating the future they want.

Distinguished personalities and notable experts in good governance, citizen engagement, youth and enterprise development will participate and lead the discussions that will drive the 2018 Career Day Conference.

Guest appearance and speakers include Senator Liyel Imoke, Founder, The Bridge Leadership Foundation, Mr. Tonye Patrick Cole, Group Managing Director, Sahara Group, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke, Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, and Mrs. Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji, Founder RISE Networks.
