Dubai, UAE – Travelers from 87 additional countries can now enjoy visa-free entry to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to a recent update from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This brings the total number of nations eligible for visa-on-arrival to 87, streamlining the travel process for tourists.
Previously, only citizens from around 73 countries could obtain a visa upon arrival in the UAE. The move aims to boost tourism by simplifying entry procedures for international visitors.
Citizens from these 87 countries can obtain a 30-day visa upon arrival, with an additional 10-day grace period for extension. Holders of passports from select countries can even acquire a 90-day visa upon arrival.
While India is not currently included on the visa-on-arrival list, a comprehensive list of exempt countries and visa application procedures can be found on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ website. Alternatively, travelers can contact the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Ports Security, and Customs (ICP) for further details.
The update also clarifies that citizens from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries do not require a visa or sponsorship to enter the UAE. They can simply present a valid GCC passport or identity card at immigration checkpoints.
