Moscow, Russia – Namibia and Russia pledged to strengthen cooperation across a broad spectrum of areas during the 10th Session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation. The meeting, held in Moscow on March 27th, was co-chaired by Namibia’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Hon. Dr. Peya Mushelenga, and Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy, Hon. Yuri Trutnev.
Discussions focused on expanding collaboration in key sectors like trade, industry, healthcare, education, finance, and natural resources. Both parties committed to accelerating the implementation of previously agreed-upon initiatives. The commitment reflects a shared desire to unlock the full potential of the bilateral relationship.
Furthermore, the health ministers of both nations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Health and Medical Sciences. This agreement signals a new chapter in Namibia and Russia’s cooperation in the vital field of healthcare. The specific details of the MOU are expected to be released in the coming days.
