Juba, South Sudan – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA&IC) bolstered its diplomatic corps’ knowledge with a public lecture on the Vienna Conventions. Held on Tuesday, the session focused on the foundational role of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
Ambassador Anthony Kon, Director General of Multilateral Relations, addressed the gathering, underlining the critical importance of diplomats possessing a thorough understanding of the Vienna Conventions. He emphasized their role as the bedrock of international relations and diplomacy, shaping all activities within the Ministry.
This lecture specifically targeted new diplomats and those unfamiliar with the Vienna Conventions. The informative session was organized in collaboration with the Dean of the School of Economic and Social Studies at Juba University.
