The Embassy of Slovakia in Washington, D.C., warmly welcomed numerous visitors during the EU Open House event on Saturday, May 13, 2023. This annual occasion provided an opportunity for people to explore various European embassies in Washington, D.C., and gain insights into their culture, history, and traditions. The Embassy of Slovakia made the most of this opportunity to showcase its rich heritage.
The event boasted several highlights, with Radovan Javorčík, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to the United States since January 2021, leading the way. Alongside other embassy officials, he engaged with visitors, offering valuable insights into Slovakian culture and history. Adding further depth to the event was the presence of Mr. Pavol Demes, a former Minister of International Relations of the Slovak Republic, renowned for his contributions as a politician, civic activist, and photographer.
Under the captivating theme “Two countries – one river: Discover Austria and Slovakia,” visitors had the pleasure of experiencing cultural presentations, musical performances, and indulging in authentic Slovakian food and beverages.
