Ambassador Zalkaliani and Governor Kemp forge strong partnership for Georgia-Georgia relations

His Excellency, David Zalkaliani, the Ambassador of Georgia to the United States and former Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, recently met with Governor Brian Kemp of the State of Georgia to discuss ways to strengthen the partnership between the two Georgias. The meeting focused on regional commerce and connectivity projects, economic development, cultural exchanges, and educational ties.

Both parties emphasized the importance of growing American investments in promoting peace and stability in the region. Ambassador Zalkaliani also highlighted Georgia’s significant role in the region and reiterated Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, addressing Russia’s continued occupation of Georgian lands.

During the meeting, they discussed enhancing economic cooperation and promoting people-to-people relations. Both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening ties, encouraging exchange programs, bilateral visits, and cultural collaborations. Ambassador Zalkaliani expressed gratitude to Governor Kemp and Georgia National Guard Major General Thomas Carden Jr. for their partnership.

Ambassador Zalkaliani also met with Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens to discuss ongoing economic projects, regional connectivity initiatives, and the strategic partnership between Atlanta and Tbilisi. Both parties explored avenues to deepen ties between the sister cities, fostering collaboration in various fields such as business, culture, and education.
