A number of undergraduate students, totaling about eighteen from the Philippine Normal University (PNU), had a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and relations between the Philippines and Thailand. The discussion took place at the Royal Thai Embassy in Makati City.
Representatives from PNU’s Students and Educators for ASEAN (PNU-SEA) and the AsTEN Secretariat Office joined the students for the dialogue with Thailand’s Ambassador to the Philippines, Tull Traisorat. Ambassador Traisorat shed light on Thailand’s significant role within ASEAN and explored the various cooperative initiatives currently underway between the Philippines and Thailand.
The discussion highlighted the positive impacts of collaboration across different sectors. Ambassador Traisorat emphasized the benefits of cooperation between governments, businesses, and everyday people in fostering stronger ties between the two nations.
He also commended the educational and agricultural initiatives spearheaded by His Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, which have had a demonstrably positive impact on Filipino communities throughout the country.
This insightful dialogue aimed to promote a deeper understanding and closer collaboration within the ASEAN community.
The exchange between PNU students and Ambassador Traisorat focused specifically on strengthening relations between the Philippines and Thailand while also highlighting the ongoing collaborative efforts that benefit both countries.
