The activities of Action Aid in Nigeria got a leap and a boost yesterday, the 23rd of July 2019 following the announcement of a 5 year 2.6 billion Naira partnership with the Canadian Government. This is one of the many ways Canada extends assistance to critical areas that have suffered neglect in developing countries.

However, Action Aid Nigeria is renowned for her many strides in ensuring the meticulous attraction and use of aids from foreign donors. And to further strengthen her basic roles in Nigeria, she is set to launch the Women’s Voice and Leadership initiative with 100 women’s rights organizations across Nigeria.

In a twit via its twitter handle, Canada in Nigeria tweeted thus ‘….Canada is proud to support Nigerian women’s civil society organizations who play a critical role in mobilizing communities, raising the voices of the poorest and most vulnerable, and advocating for lasting change.’

It is in the light of the above that she plans to support her partnership with Action Aid Nigeria. Canada’s support for gender equality is well known. She has dutifully supported the course across the world.

In Nigeria, she hopes to work with other groups with greater interest on gender equality. Her plan with Action Aid is expected to strengthen women’s rights organization and advance women’s rights in Nigeria the twit says.
