The Indonesian Trade Promotions Centre (ITPC), Lagos received Mr. Bagus Wicaksena as its new Director on February 5, 2018, and was warmly welcomed by its Media Partner, Conduit Communications Limited , Publishers of Diplomatic Watch Magazine. He succeeds Mr. Nino Wawan Setiawan, former Director of ITPC Lagos.
ITPC is a non profit government organization under the supervision of the Directorate General for National Export Development as part of a part of a global trade network abroad supervised by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, with a common goal to enhance the export of Indonesian products across the globe.
Mr. Wicaksena before his arrival in Nigeria was a Researcher of Domestic Trade Policy at the Trade Policy Analysis and Development Agency under the Indonesian Trade Ministry. He had also worked as the Sub Division Head for Trade Services and Trade Facilities respectively in the same Ministry.
Bagus Wicaksena obtained his undergraduate degree in Agricultural Socio-economic from Bogor Agricultural University and master degree in Global Food and Agricultural Business from the University of Adelaide. His research interest covers trade institution and services, food safety, agricultural development and sustainability, and international trade. He has some research publications to his credit.
He has attended several workshops and seminars in Indonesia, Australia, South Korea and Netherlands.
The new director of trade is set to strengthen some existing programmes and is willing to introduce some fresh initiatives in a chat with the Management of Conduit Communications Limited.
He highlighted some of ITPC 2018 Programme of activities which include the Manufacturing & Equipment Expo (March), Indonesian Africa Forum in Bali (April), Nigerian Young Entrepreneurs Programme, Food West Africa Expo, ASEAN Solo Exhibition, Indonesian Business Forum, Trade Expo Indonesia, Medic West Africa Expo and Indonesian Coffee Night .
