The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has been reappointed for a second term by the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. This was confirmed in a letter signed by the president and sent to Nigeria’s Senate, urging them to accept her nomination to serve a second term.
Her first shot at the job was in November 2018, when President Buhari appointed her as NIDCOM chairman. Before her appointment, she was the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora.
A seasoned broadcaster in her early years, Mrs. Dabiri Erewa joined politics and served as a member of the Federal House of Representatives, where she represented Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Lagos State, Nigeria. At the House of Representatives, she was appointed Chairman of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs.
