Washington D.C., February 21, 2024 – As Black History Month draws to a close, the Church of Scientology International in partnership with esteemed organizations, presents a thought-provoking panel discussion exploring the enduring significance of African American contributions to the Civil War. This event will take place on Wednesday, February 28th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the historic Fraser Mansion in Washington D.C.
According to Beth Akiyama, Executive Director of the Church of Scientology National Affairs Office in Washington DC, “we invite you to join a captivating evening examining the crucial role of over 200,000 Black soldiers in preserving the Union”. She added that Renowned speakers including Dr. Frank Smith (Founder and Executive Director of the African American Civil War Museum and Monument), Captain Ed Gantt (Retired US Navy Captain), and Mr. Drexil Smothers (Retired U.S. Army Sergeant, First Class) will shed light on their pivotal impact in today’s military and society at large.
