Hasani brings substantial diplomatic and international relations experience to his new position. His previous roles include serving as Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna since 2018, as well as holding positions such as Secretary General at the Ministry of Defence in 2017-2018 and Director General for Defence Policy at the Ministry of Defence from 2014 to 2017.
Before his government service, Hasani worked as a journalist and editor with various Albanian newspapers and TV stations from 1997 to 2001. He holds a law degree from the University of Tirana, Albania (2001-2006), a Master’s in International Relations from King’s College London, United Kingdom (2006), and studied at the Royal College of Defence Studies in London, United Kingdom (2005). He also holds a degree in Sociology and Philosophy from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tirana, Albania (1996-2001).
In his role as Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, he will focus on advancing Albania’s economic development, strengthening counter-terrorism efforts, and fostering economic cooperation with other nations.
