The Israeli government said that it has withdrawn its diplomats from Turkey over increasing insecurity around its embassies in the country.
In the course of the week, there have been consistent protests in Turkey, many of them in breach of Israel’s diplomatic rights.
The protesters had acted unlawfully by attempting to attack the residence of Israel’s ambassador to Turkey.
The incident at the ambassador’s home in Ankara was followed by reports of another attack on the consulate building in the country’s city of Istanbul.
However, the Israeli ambassador to Turkey, Irit Lillian, and some diplomats have departed the country.
According to official reports, their departure was due to security concerns, and they hope to return as soon as calm returns to the cities.
