Art and media are powerful tools for storytelling, reflection, and connection. However, these voices haven’t always been equally represented. The Minority Arts & Media Foundation (MAMF) is changing that narrative by empowering minority artists to tell their stories and leave their mark on the creative landscape. To celebrate this mission and raise crucial funds, MAMF is hosting its annual Fundraising Dinner on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, New Jersey.
Founded by Harry and Alejandra Geithner, MAMF has established itself as a cornerstone in empowering and nurturing the artistic talents of Latinos, African Americans, Asians, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other historically marginalized groups. Their mission is to foster a space where these communities can flourish and leave their mark on the creative landscape.
This year’s gala promises an unforgettable experience, blending elegance with a celebration of cultural richness. Guests can expect a delectable three-course meal alongside captivating performances that embody the very diversity MAMF champions. A children’s fashion show, live music acts, and art exhibitions will further enrich the evening.
A silent auction featuring exclusive items and experiences will provide an opportunity for guests to contribute directly to MAMF’s impactful initiatives. All proceeds will go towards funding the foundation’s programs, ensuring the continued empowerment of minority artists and storytellers.
Speaking to Diplomatic Watch Magazine, Alejandra Geithner, President of the foundation, stated “This gala is not just an event; it’s a celebration of diversity and creativity. Each ticket purchased and every donation made brings us closer to a world where art transcends boundaries and everyone has a voice.”
