Morocco and Benin Renew Commitment to Strong Ties

Morocco and Benin held talks on September 12, 2023 in Rabat, during which the two countries renewed their commitment to strong ties and cooperation.

The talks were led by Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Beninese Foreign Minister Olushegun Adjadi Bakari. The two ministers signed a joint communiqué that outlined the key areas of cooperation between the two countries.

The communiqué highlighted the strong ties of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Benin, which date back to the early days of independence. The two countries have a long history of working together in areas such as trade, investment, education, and culture.

The communiqué also noted the shared commitment of Morocco and Benin to peace and security in Africa. The two countries agreed to work together to address regional challenges, such as terrorism and extremism.

In the economic sphere, the communiqué highlighted the potential for increased trade and investment between Morocco and Benin. The two countries agreed to work together to facilitate trade and investment, and to promote cooperation in areas such as agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure.

The communiqué also stressed the importance of cultural cooperation between Morocco and Benin. The two countries agreed to strengthen cooperation in areas such as the arts, education, and media.
