Namibian businesses are set to take the international stage at the 53rd General Assembly (GA) of the World Trade Centre Association (WTCA), which will be held in Accra, Ghana from April 21 to 28. The event marks the return of large physical gatherings of the WTCA after three years of COVID-19 restrictions.
The delegation will be led by the Minister of Industrialization and Trade, Hon. Lucia Iipumbu, and will include representatives from a range of sectors, including agriculture, tourism, energy, logistics, and public infrastructure. According to a report by the Namibia Economist, the Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) has confirmed that local businesses will have the opportunity to showcase their products and participate in a range of activities, including B2B meetings, company visits, business networking dinners, and more.
The WTCA GA is the association’s premier annual event, bringing together representatives and business delegations from the World Trade Centre around the world to a new city each year. This year’s gathering will focus on business opportunities across the African continent, with a particular emphasis on primary sectors such as agriculture and mining, secondary sectors such as manufacturing and real estate, and tertiary sectors such as banking and retailing.
The event promises to be a unique and engaging opportunity for businesses to expand their networks and explore new opportunities, with attendees including leaders from business, government, and international organizations. With the theme of “Towards African Economic Integration and Enhanced Global Presence,” the 2023 GA highlights the importance of fostering international cooperation and promoting economic growth across the African continent.
