South African Acting National Police Commissioner, Gary Kruser has assured that the retrained Tactical Response Team (TRT) is better equipped to deal with new threats posed by violent criminals.
The lieutenant general and Police Minister Fikile Mbalula are relaunching the unit at a parade in Pretoria on Friday morning, reports Eyewitness News.
The TRT is trained to deal with so-called trio crimes hijackings and business and house robberies! said Kruser, adding that the unit is better prepared to tackle crime.
His words: “We’ve retained and refocused a TRT to deal with the threats which we’ve analysed for the Gauteng province. These teams are equipped to deal with medium- to high-risk crimes.”
