The “Circular Economy Hotspot,” established in 2016, has become one of the foremost economic events across the globe. Its 2023 edition has been slated to take place in Lagos, Nigeria, between April 25 and April 28, 2023.

The decision by the Lagos Government to host the event affirms its commitment to embrace an inclusive transition to a circular economy.

However, the event is set to be the first of many firsts. It will be the first time it is being held in an African city, and it will be the first time it will be hosted by three cities: Lagos, Dublin, and Santiago de Chile.

The event will be held in conjunction with a number of partners, mainly the Netherlands, represented by the Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Circular Economy Innovation Partnership, and Holland Circular Networks.

This year’s theme is “Towards a Circular and Resourceful Economy: The Future of Lagos.” Its objective is to ensure the promotion of diverse businesses from the grass roots up to global visibility. This will involve networking, investment, and collaboration engineered by participants and aided by the host country.

It is projected that the April event will host about 550 participants from the host country and more than 150 visitors from more than 15 countries.
