UN Secretary General to deliver keynote address at 2017 AIMUN Conference, Dec. 4

The United Nations office in New York through its Information office in Nigeria has confirmed that the Secretary General of the United Nations, His Excellency António Guterres will be sending his representative to deliver Keynote Address at the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd Annual Abuja International Model United Nations Conference (AIMUN’17) billed for December 4, 2017.

This was disclosed by the United Nations Information Officer in Nigeria, Oluseyi Soremekun.

Soremekun noted that, the UNIC had on behalf of the AIMUN team sent an invitation to the UN Secretary General to deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony of the 2017 edition of the AIMUN Conference on December 4, 2017.

He further confirmed that His Excellency, António Guterres had accepted the invitation and will hence, be sending his representative to attend the conference.

He finally reassured the AIMUN team of the UNIC continued support and partnership towards building Nigerian youths’ capacity in civic leadership, good governance, diplomacy and International relations.

The Secretary General of the AIMUN team and MUNDO country director; M.I. Abdulbakai expressed his gratitude to the UNIC, pledging his unrelented efforts in spreading the diplomatic and humanitarian works of the United Nations across Nigeria.
