Ambassador Martina Anna Tkadlec Strong has been appointed as the U.S. envoy to head its embassy in the United Arab Emirate (UAE).
Prior to her appointment and confirmation by the U.S. Senate, Amb. Strong had served in various capacities, including working in U.S. embassies in Bulgaria, Poland, and Iraq.
She has also worked as a senior officer, serving as the chargé d’affaires at the US embassy in Saudi Arabia.
The position of Head of Mission of the U.S. in the UAE has been vacant since the exit of John Rakolta Jr., a former diplomat who had served in the same capacity from 2019 to 2021.
Amb. Tkadlec Strong was appointed de facto U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia on January 20, 2021, before leaving the mission on April 16, 2023.
She has been officially congratulated by the U.S. mission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is expected to resume sooner if her letter of credence is duly admitted by the host country.
