Recognizing the significance of Laos’ role as Chair of ASEAN and AIPA in 2024, Ambassador Thao emphasized that this leadership will elevate Laos’ standing regionally and internationally, further contributing to a robust ASEAN Community.

In response, Laotian Ambassador Phokeo Phommahaxay expressed gratitude for the kind wishes and echoed the sentiment of enduring friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

The celebratory event featured traditional dishes and artistic performances from both Vietnam and Laos, fostering a delightful cultural exchange.

Similarly, in Cuba, Vietnamese Ambassador Le Quang Long led a delegation from the Vietnamese embassy to the Laotian embassy in Havana on the same day.

Ambassador Long conveyed his satisfaction with the growth of the Vietnam-Laos partnership and expressed his confidence in Laos’ successful leadership as ASEAN Chair this year. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the tradition of solidarity and collaboration within the ASEAN Committee in Havana (ACHC).
