St. Kitts is a Caribbean island paradise that offers a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and culture. With rolling landscapes in a thousand shades of green and shimmering aqua-blue waters, the island is home to secret white-sand beaches and massive beds of offshore coral, teeming with fish of every stripe and color.

Basseterre, the capital city, is one of the oldest settlements in all of the Eastern Caribbean, founded in 1627 as a French colony. One of the top attractions on the island is the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site of historical, cultural, and architectural significance.

This centuries-old citadel is a monument to the ingenuity of the British military engineers who designed it and to the skill and strength of the African slaves who built it on the steep at the risk and probable loss of lives. Its elevated vantage point offers panoramic vistas of forested mountains, cultivated fields, the historical township of Sandy Point, and neighboring Dutch, English, and French islands across the Caribbean Sea.

St. Kitts is also known for its beaches. The island offers some of the best beaches in the world, each with its own distinct allure. From the lively beaches of South Frigate and South Friars Bay, offering thrilling water sports, beach bars, and a vibrant Caribbean vibe, to the volcanic beach sands of Dieppe Bay and the secluded sandy stretches of Sandy Bank Bay, you’ll find your perfect sun-kissed spot on St. Kitts.

Furthermore, the island of St. Kitts is also committed to sustainable tourism development. Volunteering opportunities are available for those who want to get involved and help in the Heart of St. Kitts Foundation. This is a program that builds awareness around sustainability priorities and provides funding for local projects that develop community-driven tourism, preserve local culture and heritage, and support land and marine conservation.

In addition to its natural beauty, St. Kitts is also known for its cuisine. The land is sweet and generous, plump with fresh vegetables, healing herbs, gardens of grains and wildflowers, and fruiting trees with roots that reach deep into the soil. Ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, and clove grow plenty. Seaside, a fisherman brings in the day’s delicacies: lobster, wahoo, mahi mahi. Every dish is a show of love—an offering from farmers and fishermen, chefs, cooks, and generations of Kittitians willing to put their hands to the plow, to care for the land as it cares for them.
