Distinguished Ladies and gentlemen,

Being selected for the World Habitat Humanitarian and Philanthropic Award for Excellence is an incredible honour, particularly given the number of people who must have put in extraordinary strength in making a difference.  I feel very humble, but at the same time incredibly proud too for such an honour.

I am very sure that every other nominee for this award was as capable if not more, of earning this award which may have made it a difficult job for the Governing Council to choose from.

This one came to me as a surprise. Yes, I had the premonition I would be a great man but I didn’t know how it would happen. Little did I know that once upon a time it will speedily happen; I will be standing amongst dignitaries and receiving accolade for my service to humanity. Naturally, I consider it, daily living.

I have faced several challenges growing up, but each one of them has only strengthened me to make me the person I am today; a meticulous Real Estate Professional who knows exactly what he wants; someone who sets his eyes on a goal and does not lose sight of it, unless it is achieved.

I really count myself favoured. It is a great feeling to be up here, with this award in my hand. Every time I look at it, I will be reminded of this moment and how much it means to me.

That said, we must not forget that awards are not simply about today’s honorees as there would always be awards. Instead, it is a reminder that it is a privilege to serve and to be a blessing to the world.

Therefore, I am accepting this award on behalf of me and my family, and my entire staff.

Ambassador Dr. Prince Kazeem Eletu Odibo with his mother, Madam Janet Eletu Odibo on the occasion of his 40th birthday celebration and unveiling of his Foundation.

I dedicate it to my precious mother who has been caring, loving and prayerful. My mother, taught me how to empower young people and to develop my community by her generosity and exemplary life. Looking back for a moment makes me feel strongly that truly, the future looks bright.

From L to R: Engineer Oludayo Lekan Aderinwale, Mr. Sunday Ojomo, Mrs. Omobolanle Adebayo and Victor Gotevbe, just before event started.

On a closing note, I would like to encourage all of you present here and out there who may be overwhelmed by the challenges of life. Please never give up. The boy, Kazeem Austin Eletu Odibo who was once a bus driver, bus conductor and a scavenger has been transformed into a great man by the Almighty God Himself.

He never gave up against all odds. So, never give up. You are one and you are powerful. You can make a difference. Again, please never give up.

A true example of this is me, standing right here, in front of you. Thank you very much!
