Abu Dhabi, UAE – The United Arab Emirates and Uruguay recently held their first-ever political consultations, marking a significant step towards strengthening cooperation between the two nations. The meeting, hosted by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi, aimed to explore avenues for collaboration across various sectors and address key regional and global issues.
Leading the discussions were Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Dr. Nicolás Albertoni, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uruguay. The delegations also included officials from both countries’ foreign affairs ministries, highlighting the importance both sides place on this newly established dialogue channel.
The discussions focused on fostering bilateral cooperation in various areas, including political, economic, and trade sectors. Both sides expressed particular interest in collaborating on sustainable development initiatives, particularly in the realm of renewable energy.
