Cairo, Egypt – The leaders of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt met in Cairo on Saturday to solidify their strategic partnership and address pressing regional concerns.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt explored avenues for deeper collaboration across economic, developmental, and political spheres. Their discussions covered a range of regional and international issues, with the situation in the Gaza Strip at the forefront.
Both leaders stressed the importance of addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. They advocated for ensuring the safe and swift delivery of aid while pushing for a lasting ceasefire. They called for a united international effort to support the political process and achieve a comprehensive peace agreement based on the two-state solution, which they see as vital for regional stability.
The summit reaffirmed the strong ties and mutual respect between the UAE and Egypt. The leaders committed to ongoing consultations and coordination on matters of shared interest, emphasizing the importance of regional stability, security, and peace for achieving development and prosperity.
Following the summit, President El-Sisi hosted an Iftar dinner in honor of President Sheikh Mohamed and his delegation. High-level officials from both countries attended the meeting and the Iftar, signifying the depth of the bilateral relationship.
