President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova convened with non-resident ambassadors from Morocco, Egypt, Kuwait, Mongolia, Georgia, Moldova, Cuba, India, and Pakistan at a diplomatic gathering in Sofia. The meeting aimed to bolster diplomatic ties and explore economic opportunities between North Macedonia and these nations.
President Siljanovska Davkova expressed North Macedonia’s eagerness to enhance bilateral and multilateral relations during the talks. She invited the Ambassadors to consider establishing embassies in Skopje, citing the potential for stronger economic partnerships.
The President outlined North Macedonia’s investment landscape, noting its strategic location, stable monetary policies, competitive tax environment, and skilled workforce. She also briefed the diplomats on recent political developments following the presidential and parliamentary elections, as well as the country’s ongoing reform efforts.
NATO membership and European Union integration featured prominently in the discussions. President Siljanovska Davkova detailed North Macedonia’s active role in NATO operations, military exercises, and decision-making processes, noting the country’s commitment to regional and global stability.
Regarding EU integration, the President reaffirmed it as a strategic priority for North Macedonia. She called for a clear EU stance on Western Balkan expansion, echoing the spirit of the Thessaloniki Summit. Siljanovska Davkova cautioned against bilateralizing the European process, warning it could open doors to external influences with divergent agendas for the region.
